WHO WE ARE

Colun Tax Consulting was established by Stela Colun former senior of PricewaterhouseCoopers – independent tax consultant, expert in the field of VAT, international tax, individual income tax and profit tax advisory.

We consider that we distinguish ourselves on the market of tax advisory services by preparation and communication of practical solutions to the client, flexibility in relationship with the client and fees adapted to the current economic conditions.

In partnership with its Clients, Colun Tax seeks to leverage the knowledge and experience of its advisors in both international and local business practices and standards to provide quality tax solutions.

Colun Tax also cooperates with several accounting and law firms, to provide its clients with complete assistance and support in these fields.

PhD Stela Colun

Tax adviser, member the Chamber of Tax Consultants from Romania (CCF), certified accountant, partner in Colun Tax.

• 1997 – 2005 Stela worked with the Ministry of Finance, Department for Accounting regulations, being involved in drafting accounting legislation and guidance.
• 2005 – 2006 Stela was member of the corporate tax advisory team within PricewaterhouseCoopers, being specialized in corporate profit tax, withholding tax and local taxes.
• 2006 – 2009 she worked with Fine Consulting, where she gained extensive experience and knowledge of tax problems typical for retail and real estate companies.
• 2009 – 2018 Stela was partner in the tax advisory firm Colman Tax.

WHAT WE DO

Our tax advisory services are addressed to multinational corporations, large and medium-sized Romanian companies, expatriates working in Romania.

We make it a point to treat our Clients as equal business partners working together to find practical solutions to their business operations, not just abstract solutions that only look attractive on paper.

Our advisory is personalized for each Client, based on its specific needs.

We help Clients to navigate through the complicated tax jungle-type legislation by applying straight thinking and avoiding professional jargon.

Until today we managed to develop a portfolio of clients comprised from multinational companies, whom we assist in solving various tax and accounting problems.

The consultancy services offered to our clients are in form of help -desk services, performance of seminars on tax issues prepared based on the specific transactions of the client, preparation of opinions regarding tax and accounting issues, etc. Our services are provided in Romanian and / or English.

Help desk

The form of collaboration we have implemented with most of our Clients consists of a monthly help-desk subscription.

The Client chooses several subscription hours, asking us questions about the tax and accounting issues that it encounters in daily work. Our assistance is by telephone and written opinions in the Client's case.

The help desk we currently have with our Clients is flexible. Thus, the Client chooses several hours, and after a period of months, based on experience gained, can choose to supplement or reduce this number.

Unused hours in a month are rolled over in the next two months.

General advisory services

We can also work with our Clients for specific projects.

General advisory services include:

• Set-up of companies (including assistance regarding change of headquarters, sale of shares)
• Tax planning and efficiency schemes for domestic and cross-border operations
• Advisory with respect to tax implications resulting from the transactions performed by the Client in the fields of corporate profits tax, individual income tax, VAT, withholding tax, local taxes, as well as other Romanian taxes
• Advisory and representation before the tax authorities (applications, appeals, explanations, objections, mediation, etc.)
• Advisory and assistance regarding business transfer
• Training on fiscal news and customized tax workshops and trainings
